Refuge "King Albert"
This is one of the shelters with the most enviable position in the whole panorama of the Dolomites. At the foot of the towers of Vajolet in the rugged mountains, the refuge "King Albert" in 2621 meters above sea level, is a popular destination for hikers and a place of stunning focal point for walks and, for the most experienced, bold climbing.
The name is a tribute to King Albert I of Belgium in the early twentieth century used to make excursions in the Dolomites, Fassa Tita Piaz accompanied by the expert climber. The refuge is privately owned and maintained by Valeria Pallotta, and is open during the summer season from June 20 to September 20. E 'reachable from Vigo di Fassa (cable car), Pera di Fassa (chair), and even Nova Levante.
